What you Must do for YOUTH LEADERSHIP HOUSTON (If you feel that you are unable to meet the following criteria please let the YLHC Director and/or Principal know as soon as possible.)
- Must have an expressed interest in understanding and serving the community, as well as enthusiasm and commitment to participate in the program.
- Must currently be a Senior student in good academic and citizenship standing .
- Must be prepared to volunteer for community services.
- Must commit to a 100% participation in all activities. Full attendance by each participant is essential. As a member of Youth Leadership Houston County you must agree to attend the retreat and all program sessions. (Only two excused absences are allowed and if possible, will notify the director of Youth Leadership Houston County/Principal of my absence and receive approval prior to that day.
- Must participate in Annual Fund-raiser. YLHC remains a "FREE" program for you to participate in thanks to past fund-raising efforts. Most youth leadership organizations must charge, and charges range from $50 to $200. We had a great fund-raiser last year that enabled meals to be sponsored, a graduation trip and funds to start this years class. A successful fund-raiser is only a success if everyone pitches in and does their part. (An undetermined number of hours of participation in this fund-raiser will be required) There is something for everyone to do!
- Must always present yourself as courteous and professional. When out on class trips remember you are representing the youth of Houston County. (Do not complain aloud to others when out on a trip) All of the educational leaders are volunteering their time and resources, please make them feel appreciated. |
